Can you argue your point in Korean, not just describe your day?
Have you ever wanted to debate the way you would in your first language, but in Korean?

This course is for learners ready to move from conversation to real discussion. If you've completed Intermediate 2B at the London Sejong Institute or another King Sejong Institute, or hold equivalent proficiency, this is your next step.
Each week, you'll take a side, build your argument, and defend it in Korean, all while picking up the vocabulary and expressions native speakers actually use when they debate.

A Sejong Institute Certificate of Completion will be provided if learners attend above 70% of classes.

Detailed Description

What you will learn:

• How to state an argument, back it up with evidence, and disagree politely, all in formal Korean.

• Build vocabulary for real-world topics, from AI and employment to housing and generational change.

• Practise structuring an argument like a debater, not just a conversationalist.

• Test your skills in two live tournaments, one at the midpoint and one at the end.

• Money and lifestyle — work-life balance vs. the FIRE movement, cost-effectiveness vs. emotional satisfaction

• Technology and society — AI and the future of work, social media, single-use plastic regulation

• Culture and generations — single-person households, housing for young adults, generational conflict, overtourism.

 

Who should apply?:

This course is ideal for anyone looking to speak more Korean, boost their conversational confidence, and enjoy engaging discussions with fellow learners.

 

It is designed for students who have completed Intermediate 2B at the London Sejong Institute or another King Sejong Institute, or who hold equivalent Korean proficiency.
