Description

The Institute for Corporate Sustainability (ICS) is pleased to invite faculty and staff to attend Carbon Literacy training. Upon completion and submission of a brief assessment, successful participants will receive accreditation as Carbon Literate from the Carbon Literacy Project https://carbonliteracy.com/

ICS will cover the cost of obtaining the certification for you.

Detailed Description

The training takes a full day, which we have divided into two half-days. It will take place on Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2nd, from 9:30 to 1:30 pm. This training will only be available in person and will take place in Classroom 5 on Tuesday and in the Group Study Room in the Library on Wednesday.

If you're wondering what Carbon Literacy Training entails, here's the definition provided by the Carbon Literacy Project:

"An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis".

Upon successful completion of the course and a short online induction session by the Carbon Literacy Project, you will be able to train others on Carbon Literacy (potentially embedding it into your courses if suitable or training other members of your team). This model is based on peer-to-peer teaching.

Please register for the course by Friday, March 28th. Places are limited and will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. After Friday, the certification will be open to students too.

For any questions or queries, please contact lnma Ramos, who will be providing the training, at RAMOSl@Richmond.ac.uk
